![]() ![]() Forza Horizon 5's Rally Adventure expansion: 4/5ġ2.Lost Judgment proudly kept the Yakuza brawler gameplay alive when it was released last year and now Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s first-ever expansion is available. Lost Judgment's Kaito Files expansion: 5/5ĩ. I’ll slot Dordogne at #15 in the games I’ve played this year.Ħ. And the game's biggest weaknesses are that its actual game play is really janky, and it has the frustrating lack of chapter select. The game's biggest strength is its story. And I liked how cute so many small game play elements were, like creating custom, artistic pages in your binder, or taking photos, or collecting and listening to tapes. I really liked the ending, the reveal regarding the main character's past, and that end credits music. The highs? A really good, touching story. And the game's quick time events are sometimes janky. And it is very frustrating that this game has no chapter select and a plethora of missable achievements and missable collectibles. The lows? Very clunky player movement - I would often get stuck when trying to navigate a forest or pond or the house. It has many highs, and so many lows as well. But this just isn't it for me.īeat Dorodogne. I've played some real time with pause games before, like the KOTOR games, which I found perfectly enjoyable. I'm sure it's actually a very interesting and engaging system once you get into it, but I have just given up on this entire part of the game to be honest. I feel like such a """"""filthy casual""""" but this entire system is just way too complex, convoluted and just not fun. And with each level up I get bombarded with so many options that I just don't care anymore, I just pick something cool sounding and be done with it. I don't even want to understand all the different attacks and spells. This time I'm just playing on Easy to be able to blast through the combat without thought. And every time I think to myself that I'll come back to it another time and will really get into the combat once I take some time for it. I've tried getting into the game three times now and the combat killed it each time. I absolutely adore the lore and the writing from the moment the first letter graces the screen, but I just can't stand/understand/care for the combat one bit. I just have such conflicting thought trying Pillars of Eternity once again. Might try PoE once again, but now with all the difficulties turned way down so I can hopefully get through the combat and enjoy the story. It took me like 2 months to beat P4G, so I don't really know what to jump into next, lol. I finished the game in ~60 hours and I legit think it would've saved me around 10-15 hours of being bored. I honestly wish I had turned it on right from the start instead during one of the final dungeons. It'll save you hours of pointless grinding and will make sure you won't have to do any of the side quests which are basically 'go fetch me an item in the dungeon you just did'. And I'd recommend everyone whose not enjoying it to use some of the difficulty mode options, and at the very least turn on the 'get more xp' option. The combat and dungeon crawling was honestly quite boring though. I don't rate it as highly as P5, but I can totally appreciate this 15 year old game (?!) like it's brand new, which is honestly quite extraordinary. Even though it did took a while to get into I absolutely love it. I will put it on my wishlist though and hope it becomes Play Anywhere at some point (if it comes to consoles).įinally finished Persona 4 Golden. ![]() HLTB says it takes about 40 hours so I'm definitely not going to attempt it. Love the opportunities for free attacks if an enemy leaves your attack range, sort of similar running by enemies in Yakuza Like a Dragon. I'm digging the combat, especially with its emphasis on positioning. Finished the tutorial section and got up to the part where you get the first achievement. I did get to play some Expeditions Rome yesterday. I'm not feeling the loot stuff either and I'd rather not grind out the rest of my heroes. I have no intention of playing the DLC campaigns if it's just more of the same. For some reason the mission select stuff was just really confusing to me, like sometimes it was difficult to find the next thing I was supposed to do on the war table. ![]() Otherwise everything is just kind of forgettable. Kamala is definitely the best thing about the game and most fun to play as. I pretty much just spammed Plume of Prometheus and hero abilities to get through the game. I finally finished Avengers yesterday after playing it on and off since September-December 2022 and now June-July 2023. ![]()
